Four people – two of them police officers – were sentenced to 10 years in prison yesterday for selling nearly a kilogram of methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in Phnom Penh’s Chbar Ampov district earlier this year.

Phnom Penh Municipal Court judge Ly Lipmeng also handed down 20 million riel (about $5,000) fines to economic police officers Lun Pha, 47, and Suon Lenin, 34, as well as tuk-tuk driver Muth Thim, 38, and businesswoman Morn Dalin, 30.

According to the police account of the sting, on March 8, 2015, Pha hired Thim to pick up the drugs from Dalin and bring them to him in Chbar Ampov district.
