293,000 still dealing with Vamco damage in Chonburi

CHONBURI:--More than 283,000 Chonburi residents still are dealing with flood and storm damage from tropical depression Vamco, Gov. Khomsan Ekachai said.

The province has totaled up the damage from the Sept. 14-18 storm, which impacted 20 sub-districts, 98 villages and 88 communities, he said.

The flooded areas were in moos 1-5 of Banglamung District, moo 1-8 of Nong Plalai, moos 5-10 of Pong, moo 1-4 of Takientia, moos 1-13 of Huay Yai, moos 4-5 of Khao Maikaew, moos 1-14 of Nongprue and 44 communities in Pattaya.

Sattahip District was flooded in five sub-districts and 20 villages including moos 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, and 9 of Sattahip District, moos 1 and 4 of Samae San, moos 7-9 of Bang Saray, moos 2,3, and 5 of Plutaluang, and moo 2 and 9 of Najomtien.

The flood in Nong Yai District was in four sub-districts and 11 villages, moo 1 of Klongplu, moo 1-4 of Kaosok, moo 4 of Nong Sua Chang, and moo 2-6 of Nong Yai.

The Phanat Nikhom District contained four flooded sub-districts and 19 villages consisting of moo 5, 6, and 8 of Morn Sub-district, moo 2,8, and 9 of Na Pratad, and moo 3-7, and 9-11 of Rai Lak Tong, and moo 2-5, and 9 of Wat Bot.

Currently, Sattahip District has 1,058 afflicted people in 424 families and 61 evacuated people from 40 families, 424 houses damaged, and a broken floodgate.
