PHNOM PENH, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- A week-long visit of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to China concluded on Saturday with fruitful results for Cambodia-China ties and regional cooperation, a government official said.

"It was a very busy week for the prime minister, but he has brought a lot of achievements and advantages to Cambodia," Kao Kim Hourn, Minister Attached to Prime Minister Hun Sen, said in a press conference here when Hun Sen returned from China.

He said the visit provided an opportunity for the prime minister to seek development assistance, to promote tourism, and to attract investment through delivering keynote remarks at a series of international conferences.

"The visit has not only contributed to the further enhancement of Cambodia-China relations, but also promoted Cambodia's foreign policy and investment potential to the world," he said.

In China, Hun Sen attended the Global Tourism Economy Forum in Macao and the Asian Political Parties' Special Conference on the Silk Road, the Global Poverty Reduction and Development Forum, and the sixth Xiangshan Forum in Beijing.

Also, he held a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Oct. 15 and the two leaders witnessed the signing ceremony of five cooperation documents, according to Kao Kim Hourn.

"The meeting between the two leaders was very important to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries," he said.
