Water level of Chulabhorn dam lowest in 20 years

CHAIYAPHUM, 3 November 2015 (NNT) - The Chulabhorn dam in Chaiyaphum currently stores the least water in 20 years. A local water allocation committee in the province has issued an order to strictly ban second-season rice cultivation until April next year.

Director of northeastern hydro power plants Worawit Rawiniphaphong said on Tuesday that the dam had only 44 million cubic meters of water or 35% of the capacity, lower than last year by 31 million cubic meters.

The water levels of almost all dams in the Northeast were very low and the water could only be used for consumption and environmental conservation, said the director. Second-season rice cultivation is therefore prohibited from November 2015 until April 2016.

A network of Chulabhorn dam water users, including leaders of local administrations, community leaders and groups of people in Phrom and Chern watersheds met on Tuesday to acknowledge the water situation and develop a plan to manage water in the province and nearby areas.

This is generally due to low rain fall , it may be possible to cloud seed , Thailand seems to have the monopoly on this secret, no one else has perfected this , you could try introducing reverse osmosis , recycled water, ground water and improve dam runoff area's, to come up to speed and have plenty of water will take twenty years if Thailand starts now , there's no hurry......coffee1.gif

I have begun the process of pissing upstream to help with this problem.

A variation of the boat propellers in Chao Phraya, but much more eco-friendly. Well done.

The Junta are all powerful.

Rest assured that they will graciously decree that it piss down with rain until all the dams runneth over.

Problem solved.

Just turn all the boats in the opposite direction and open up the throttle. tongue.png
