Border Conflict Summed Up in 400 Pages

Well-known journalist Chhay Sophal launched his new book yesterday about Cambodia’s map-based territorial conflicts with Vietnam from 1623 to 2015.

Entitled “Friend Enemy: Cambodian-Vietnamese Map and Territory,” the book focuses on Cambodia’s internal conflicts related to the border lines and maps since 1949.

The 400-page Khmer-language book describes in great detail the the hot spots of conflicts after the July 2013 election, which saw the Cambodia National Rescue Party, led by Sam Rainsy, and the ruling Cambodian People’s Party, led by Prime Minister Hun Sen, clash over the border.
