brewsterbudgen
Pakse is very small and can easily be explored on foot or rented bicycle. The temple is interesting but by far the nicest thing to do is sit at one of the many riverside bars/restaurants drinking Beer Lao. There are many good restaurants in town. I usually choose Indian or French food as it's generally better and cheaper than in Thailand. I always stay at the Pakse Hotel which has a lovely rooftop restaurant. It's not the cheapest hotel but it's well run and in the heart of town.

Amusements
If your going to Pakse, try and get to the 4,000 islands, because all the locals rave about it.
brewsterbudgen
Thank you for your reply can you give me an address or name for a french rest.? Sorry I don't know any names. The Pakse Hotel is French run but their menu is more International. Pakse is very small. You won't have any problem finding restaurants.
