Mr O'Rouke is reunited with his wallet at the Phuket Tourist Police Station.

PHUKET: -- A wallet that had been left in a toilet at Phuket International Airport (PIA) on Tuesday (Nov 24) was handed back to its rightful owner yesterday (Nov 25) after it was handed in to tourist police by a popular Thai actor.

Phuket Tourist Police Chief Pol Maj Urumporn Khoondejsumrit said that at 3:45pm on Tuesday Thai actor Morris K came to their office at the PIA with a wallet he had found in the gents toilet in the arrival terminal.

Maj Uramporn said that inside the wallet was B4,600 cash and a credit card issued to a Mr Aidan O’ Rourke.

“After making some investigations, we learned that Mr O’ Rourke, who is from Ireland, arrived on an AirAsia flight at PIA that day. AirAsia found that Mr O’Rouke was staying in Patong. They managed to contact him and told him his wallet had been found and was with us,” Maj Urumporn said.

I might sound cynical but there seems to be a spat of these good samaritan media grabs right at the start of the high season.

We're overdue for a story about a jai dee taxi driver who finds 200,000 euros cash in his cab (sic) and spends all day looking for the passenger and eventually finds him.

It will happen shortly.

If you want to go on holiday, and think there is a chance of mislaying your wallet, come to honest Thailand.

Not only do you get your wallet back, you also get a photo opportunity with the (albeit Tourist) Thai police !

A genuine modern fairy tale. I'm almost crying.

There gotta be a joke somewhere along the lines of "How many police does it take to return a wallet?" in this photo smile.png

How sad of a place is it when basic honesty is hot news?
