Hand the driver 10 baht through the window without making eye contact.Have exact change ready, as he likely will not give you change. Don't stand beside the songthaew, looking like a fool, waiting for a discussion as to whether you have paid enough. If you wait for a discussion, you will certainly get one. JHolmesJr Posted December 8, 2015 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Most of them will, but to make sure just ask "Pattaya Sai Song Mai" Never EVER initiate conversation with a songthaew driver….they take it to mean you are asking how much/you are a newbie or tourist and you will get the usual 150b/200b quote….as long as its going in the direction you came from…get on….if it takes a wrong turn get off and pay 10B silently. Repeat till you get home. You shouldn't have to because if they are driving towards 2nd road they are most likely going there. The only hitch might be some might terminate the journey at the corner of 2nd road and pattaya tai….if so, just take another songthaew from there. Why not turn left and catch a Songthaew from the Beach road? >>Strange directions.<< strange indeed.As you said turn left as you exit the Immigration car park and walk straight down to Beach road ,about 200 m .Cross over to the Beach side and all Baht busses passing will be heading to Pattaya .A slightly longer way ,is to turn right after you exit the car park and at the top of the road ,about 100 m ,turn left and go about 200 M till you reach a major crossroad .Baht busses travelling in a right hand direction will be heading for Pattaya . I'm trying to get back to 2nd road in Patts If you stay in 2nd rd Pattaya, avod the main rd Sukhumvit. Just take the baht bus from beach rd. It's 10 baht. You mean there are now bath buses plying Jomtien Second Road? How far south on Jomtien Second Road can you hail one? Hmmm. Waitasec.
