Egypt: No sign yet of 'terrorist act' in Russian plane crash

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt's chief investigator says a preliminary investigation into the October crash of a Russian passenger plane in Sinai has found no indication yet of any "illegal or terrorist act."

A statement released Monday by the chief investigator, Ayman el-Muqadam, says that so far the investigation committee did not "receive any evidence" that indicates there was foul play in the downing of the plane.

The vaguely worded statement implied this is not the final conclusion of the investigators. El-Muqadam's statement also says the committee is "continuing its work."

The Oct. 31 crash killed all 224 people onboard. Russia has said an explosive device had been placed onboard the Airbus 321-200 and the Sinai branch of the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.

In 'War' the first casualty is 'TRUTH'.

Russia has effectively engaged in 'war' with the IS Terrorists, but it seems, from the reports that I've read that they seem to target then Anti-Syrian Government forces, with a small nod towards the IS terrorists.

What better way to receive UN sanctions to 'go hard against the baddies' then to 'doctor' the findings of the crash investigation report?

I have no inside knowledge of what really caused the plane to crash, but just a healthy skepticism of what countries are capable of to distort the facts to meet their specific end goals.

Just casting my mind back to the 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' excuse - whistling.gif

OH, BTW, IS or ISIS, bad, very bad. The sooner that are rid of, disabled, dismantled, the better (restraining to not type 'nuke the lot of them', because 'good' people die when you chase 'bad' people indiscriminately.

Tuppence spent, back to enjoying a cold beer now

What a ridiculous statement!

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif Heck of a comedian.

Not the first time officials have jumped the gun on the official crash report.

In 1996 the crash of TWA Flight 800 there was widespread speculation that it had been brought down by a bomb.

After an exhaustive investigation by the NTSB it was determined that the cause was an explosion in the center fuel tank due to an electrical fault.

Wait for the professional investigation team to do their job and produce their final report.

Shame on the likes of Cameron , Putin ( who originally was saying to wait fro the investigation) and other world leaders to state 'categorically'' it was a terrorist bombing .

Just more propaganda and disinformation sucked up by the Media to provide a pretext to push their political agendas in Syria and the Middle East .

The report came from the Egyptian investigators and they are following the Thai model....don't scare the tourists !!,!
