I have real wide feet. Neanderthal wide. Buying shoes here is a real pain. I used to just stock up when I would return home for a visit so no big deal. However I havent been back for quite awhile and after having friends bring me four pairs of New Balance that were not true to width I thought I would one day fly back to buy shoes. That was until last night when I was in a mall and a friend was with me. He wanted to go into the Sketchers store. Which is right next door to the New Balance store. He asked the sales girl if she had a shoe to fit me and she said yes. I almost didnt let her bother but she said they would fit. They fit perfect. So if there is anyone out there they are the Sketchers Go Run 4. 4500b.....awesome shoe and super comfortable. Hope this info helps a fellow caveman foot guy.....

I buy New Balance 4E mostly because of the pain I suffer if shoes rub.

You can't get 4E here, loads in the states and some in the UK.

They are not cheap at around 5,000 Baht, but ae certainly comfortable.

I also use NB insoles which I find are really good, again not cheap at 1,500 baht.

Thanks for the heads up about Sketchers I'll have a look next time I'm near there, if you say where they are.

Actually, sports or running shoes don't seem to be a problem here in Bangkok. I find most of the top brands have wide shoes.

The problem for me is daily shoes. Most shoes nowadays are very narrow fitting and quite pointed. I am sure that if I found a pair that fitted me they would look like skis.

I can sometimes find Clarks or Ecco with a wide fitting but is very rare. I often end up buying shoes simply because they fit, not because I like them.

I am a size 45 or 46 but very wide.

For me, not even the New Balance 4E fit. In 23 years here I have bought 2 pairs of shoes here. So finding these was a great find.

Thanks for posting this info. It really helps getting details like this. I wear 4E New Balance shoes, they just work well for me. I never pay more than $50 per pair, so I think I'll stock up when I come out.
