snoop1130 Posted December 28, 2015 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Thai embassy in Myanmar closed until December 30th due to protests in YangonSamui TimesTHAILAND -- The Thai embassy in Yangon, Myanmar is closed until December 30th after the court’s decision to sentence two Burmese nationals to death for murdering two British tourists last year.According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Burmese authorities have reinforced security for the Thai embassy and Thai nationals in Yangon as a precautionary measure. The protest has so far been peaceful.The Burmese authorities will keep their citizens informed of the justice system in Thailand where the ruling can be appealed. They have also reiterated their full compliance with the Thai legal system.
