BANGKOK, 30 December 2015 (NNT) –- Deputy Defense Minister Gen Udomdej Sitabutr and high-ranking military officials have paid a courtesy call on Deputy PM and Defence Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan on the occasion of the New Year’s Day.

Gen Udomdej led the Permanent-Secretary for Defense, military chiefs and high-ranking military officials to give New Year greetings to Deputy PM Gen Prawit at the Five Provinces Bordering Forest Preservation Foundation in Phaya Thai area.

The Five Provinces Bordering Forest Preservation Foundation was established by the Royal Thai Army in response to Her Majesty the Queen’s concern for the forests in five border provinces in the East. Gen Prawit Wongsuwan is the foundation’s chairman.

Gen Prawit thanked Gen Udomdej and his retinues for their visit, saying their presence was a morale booster to him. The deputy PM asked his well-wishers to help the government and the National Council for Peace and Order work towards peace and stability.

What happened to the press conference that was supposed to be held today in regards to the park scandal?

I think it was a report to be submitted. The Thai press will be extra cautious with this one. Of course, as with 90% of this government's commitments, this could be just another "fuggedaboutit" moment.

Thai TV should have a weekly show called, "Whatever happened to...?" Topics would be endless.

Wonder if they had to kiss his ring or not?

I remember.

That is maybe 16 - 17 years ago.

A simple farmer in the municipality, wanted something from the police chief.

He slides on his knees, all the way up to the chief of police, kissed his ring and formulated his request.

These are images that you never forget.
