Yala beefs up security, searching dorms & rented houses



YALA, 11 January 2016 (NNT) – Security personnel from various units have joined forces to strengthen the crime suppression campaign in target areas.

At Yala Provincial Police Station, Yala Provincial Police Commander Pol. Col. Jamlong Suwaluck, dispatched over 60 police, military officials and civil defense volunteers to dorms and rented houses in three locations in the municipal area to search for illegal items.

Apart from the rented accommodation, authorities have also searched suspicious vehicles. The operation was intended to deter criminals from staging attacks on people and property. The move is also expected to build public confidence in the city’s security measures.
