Hi

Has anyone used the link to Ashtons Solicitors on UK Thai Embassy website. It is in the information section on O A Longstay visa requirements regarding the notorised documents ? It states 'Documentts 4 to 8 need to be certified by notary public or Solictor( if you click on solicitor it leads to Ashtons Solicitors in London)

I am in the process of applying in person at UK Thai Embassy next month for O A Longstay visa. I have all required documentation which now needs to be certified by Notary Public or Solicitor as stated on their website. They also provide a link to a solicitor called Ashtons Solicitors in London. Their price is £5 per document with reassurance that signed and stamped documents by them is sufficient for UK Thai embassy. As the embassy have provided this link, then I assume this will suffice?

To have documents notorised and sealed is more expensive. I had quotes between £100 and £200 from other firms. Hence I am inclined to get it done by Ashtons Solicitors for £25!

Many thanks ( I won't phone Embassy as waste of time, never answer phone or my emails)

Hi, I got my visa last November and I used a Notary which cost 150GBPand would have cost more to have them sealed. I realised afterwards that the Embassy will accept docs being certified by a solicitor. The examples the hand out at the embassy are docs certified by a solicitor. Don't waste your money on Notary. The application was dealt with very quickly, I arrived at the Embassy at 11.55 five minutes before the deadline! and was out of there at 12.05 with receipt to collect passport the following day! Hope this is helpful.
