Car Plunges Off Chalongrat Expressway, Killing One
Pol. Lt. Patinya Jirathakorn, Deputy Investigator at Khanna Yao Police Station,on the evening of October 7, at approximately 20:00, received a report of a fatal crash involving a car that had fallen from the Chalongrat Expressway. The incident occurred near the Chatuchot Ring Road, at the entrance to Soi Nong Rahaeng 7, on Kanchanaphisek Road in Klong Sam Wa district, Bangkok. Emergency responders, including officers from the Expressway Authority of Thailand and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a black Toyota Fortuner flipped upside down. The vehicle was severely damaged and inside the wreckage, the driver was found deceased at the wheel, with multiple injuries. The victim was identified as 52-year-old Mr. Thammarat (last name withheld), a sales manager from Pathum Thani province. Initial investigations suggest that the victim who was driving alone, likely returning from work in the Bang Na area to his home in Lam Luk Ka. It is believed that the driver may have attempted to exit towards Lam Luk Ka but lost control of the vehicle. The car collided with the expressway barrier, flipped, and plunged from a height equivalent to a five-story building. Rescue workers employed hydraulic equipment to extricate the body from the wreckage. The incident is under further investigation by the authorities. Picture from responders. -- 2024-10-08 -

It has to be invoked by the member state. Prime Minister May chose not to invoke it. The incidents demonstrate that Russia, headed by Putin, is a country that is hostile and threatening to NATO. Russia basically justified its invasion of Ukraine from events during WW2, accusing Ukrainians of being Nazis, ie member of, or sympathetic to, a German political party dissolved in May 1945. -

Could an October Surprise Shift the Deadlocked Trump-Harris Race?
The first time I heard the term October Surprise was in 1988, and it referred to something GHW Bush (CIA chief at the time) did prior to the election in 1980 with Iran (remember the Tehran hostage thing?) and it appears to have succeeded in getting Ronnie elected. I will not comment on the personal relationship between HW and the young fellow who tried to kill Reagan.
