SRT train 407 from Phitsanlouk to Chaing Mai

Featured Replies

Took the State Railways of Thailand (SRT) train 407 from Phitsanlouk to Chaing Mai, a 7 hour train ride, only 65 baht for a foreigner, 0 baht for a Thai. It was a local train, no AC just fans. It's a great way to see the countryside if you have lots of time. The ticket can only be bought on the same day as departure. Train leaves at 7:29 am.

I made the same journey on this train the other day. It was a very pleasant day for an open-windows journey; seven hours may be a bit much on the third-class train at other times of the year.
