mail stolen at the airport

Featured Replies

I do quite a lot of mailing out of Thailand and recently about 1 in ten items I post goes missing at the airport. Its difficult to prove even though I use tracking, which is why I think they can get away with it, but theres really no other explanation except that its getting stolen. Anyone else having this problem?

Never seems to happen to me. What do you mail that gets stolen?

Dought it is going missing from airport usualy sealed before then. What makes you think it's at the airport.!!

They disappear after the message "Departure From Outward OE" which most people thinks means that they have left the country but in fact they have yet to go through the xray machines at the airport, I know this because I have had several items with small batteries returned to me the next day, so they arent sealed at that stage and thats when they disappear. could be they are being stolen at entry to the various western countries they are being sent to but the common factor is the airport

I wish I had your problem. I've had 4 things shipped to me here in Thailand. Not a single one of them ever arrived. I don't know who to blame and I don't care to hate over it. I simply don't use the mail system (whether it's incoming or outgoing) anymore.

sex toys will be confiscated by customs.

had it happen to me too, going both ways, articles were registered and simply disappeared outward at the airport and inward at the po. Seems some of the workers are trying to get extra benefits, before anyone says it doesnt happen , it was the head person at my local po that told me some workers help themselves, its something they cannot control.

Thats why it pays to pay the few baht insurance, then even if it does disappear you are covered.

Yes, but then you would have to declare the actual value..,

Are you selling items and some customers are making claim of non-receipt to get another or refund? Mail does go missing, and get lost, and occasionally stolen. But people often get tired of waiting and report non receipt when items are just delayed (those that are honest) and suspect some are less honest.

I have had parcels go the other way from Europe to Thailand, when Tracking it says is at the Airport (Frankfurt) seems to stay there for 10 days but suddenly appears at the recipients address even though it still states that the package is still in Frankfurt.

Removed an off-topic post.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Hello, we have bern sending thousand od parcels over the years and nothing ever disapeared, so it might be bad ,uck only.

Do not trust any tracking details that fan only be updated on Thai poat if the recipient country post office scan it properly, which then often fail to do, especially in USA...
