webfact
Bloomberg: I'm considering 2016 bidBy Dylan Byers, CNN(CNN)Michael Bloomberg says he is considering running for president of the United States, a move that would dramatically shake up an already chaotic 2016 race.In an interview with Financial Times, the media mogul and former New York City mayor said he was "looking at all the options" when asked about a possible bid."I'm listening to what candidates are saying and what the primary voters appear to be doing," Bloomberg said, adding that he would need to add his name on ballots by early March in order to stage a serious campaign.Full story: http://us.cnn.com/2016/02/08/politics/michael-bloomberg-2016-election/index.html-- CNN 2016-02-
Usernames
I can see his campaign platform in one word: Prohibition. "I will prohibit: tobacco, alcohol, sugar, fat, all contact sports, and mean words." The ultimate mommy candidate has arrived.
keemapoot
Comedian David Letterman was unmerciful to Bloomberg, making him the butt of countless jokes. If he enters it will certainly add to the fun in the comedic GOP race now.
CaptHaddock
Bloomberg won't run. He's just threatening the Democrats with throwing the race to the Republicans by taking votes from Hillary. In the end he won't run, because he knows will lose.

In the end he won't run, because he knows will lose. I'm not from New York, and I don't follow the guy, so I don't know if he has a history of teasing for attention, as you seem to suggest. On seeing the headline, I assumed something quite different: that the inside info (and no one is more "inside" than Bloomberg) is that Hillary Clinton will indeed be indicted, and will soon withdraw from the race, and that opportunists are therefore now circling, knowing that the dominant Wall Street/Hollywood wing of the Democrat party will not get behind Bernie Sanders. Your science fiction fantasy about Clinton aside, Bloomberg has said that he would only run if Sanders were nominated or Hillary moves too far to the left to suit him. That amounts to a threat to start a third-party just for the purpose of taking votes away from the Dems which is indeed what would happen. I don't know who he imagines is listening, not Sanders' supporters, for sure. But that's his game: to try to push the Dem candidate toward the right. He won't run though because, although he is as vain as any other politician, he doesn't want to lose. No NYC mayor has ever gone on to higher office. It's the graveyard of political ambition. Clinton won in 1992 because Ross Perot took votes away from the Republicans while Ralph Nader threw the 2000 election to Bush II by taking votes from the Dems. No third party candidate has ever won, except for Lincoln. Therole of third parties in the US is only a spoiler role. When Mike Bloomberg became mayor of NYC in about 2001 his wealth was reported as two or three billion. By 2011, it had ballooned to $27 billion. Maybe more by now. So, dropping $1 billion on a presidential campaign would hardly make a dent. Bloomberg had a reputation as a technocrat, but he didn't accomplish much in particular during 12 years as mayor. After his second term he needed to get the city's charter amended to remove the restriction on a third term. He did this by making contributions to many non-profit organizations in the city who then lead the charge to amend the charter, a campaign which succeeded. Other than that his administration was known for supporting the unconstitutional "stop-and-frisk" laws under which the police searched black people relentlessly whether or not there was any reason for suspicion. Bloomberg is the quintessential plutocrat, who throws his money wherever he has to to get his way.
Thaidream
Another wealthy politician who could care less abound the middle class and poor of America. There is only one candidate who may make a difference and that is Bernie Sanders. That is why the big business establishment, banks and the wealthy are scared of him.If he continues to gain in the polls and win some primaries watch the Wall Street money come out against him big time. spidermike007
I am hoping he runs. That would mean there was at least one competent, intelligent person running for president, who is truly a business success story, not just in his own mind. I would vote for him, in a nanosecond. Let's see. The other choices are a well intentioned guy, who has nearly socialist policies, and no way to pay for these programs, without running up the national debt to unheard of levels, a $35 Little Rock street gal, who is bought and paid for, a charlatan businessman, who is preaching a doctrine of hate, bigotry, racism, and who has no hesitation to walk away from billions in debt, and has never uttered a true word in his life, an inferior version of a political dynasty family member, and a bunch of other candidates who represent the absolute mediocrity of America. Not much choice in my book.
Usernames
Voting for Bloomberg would be like voting to go back to the First Grade, where they tell you what to eat, how to act, where to sit, what to read, what you cannot think, and when you get to go out to play--with a full padded suit and helmet on. Oh, and what you get to watch on TV--the Bloomberg Channel for 24 hours a day.
