We have a white leather suite which has some splits and tears on it. My wife has just returned from Bangkok and has managed to get her hands on a small sheet of leather. Has anyone any ideas how to stick the new leather to the old. We have some contact adhesive, would this be ok?

Thai watsadu has glue for that in cans....don't know if it works because when i arrived home the can had been leaking.
