iReason
"Police said both men had confessed to having a role in the August 17 explosion.""Karadag’s lawyer Schoochart Kanpai said on Tuesday that his client had never confessed.""Defendant number one (Karadag) is not going back on his word," Schoochart told reporters outside the court. "He never confessed.""Schoochart said he had asked the court to look into his client’s allegations that he was tortured in custody." "The junta has said it was unlikely the two suspects were tortured while in military custody." The junta says? http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Chinese-Uighur-suspects-deny-Bangkok-bomb-charges--30279427.html Perhaps Thailand's National Human Rights Commission should invite the military responsible for the suspect's detention to address the accusations at an inquiry. You know, abiding by International Standards...
Oziex1
Sorry the reward money has been handed out already and the officers have got their new pickup trucks why do the hand the reward out before the conviction ?? Once the RTP grabs you and decide you are the one and coerces a confession, then your fate is sealed, case closed, guilty! Hand out the reward. Yann55
Plastic bag over the head. Electric shock treatment. Beatings, Reenactments, presumed guilty. Why do they resort to these practices? There is no SARS in Thailand. There are no sex establishments. A Thai would never do such a thing. Third world thinking. Right. The Inquisition, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pinochet, Franco, the English police in Burma, India, ex-Malaya (read 'Burmese Days' by George Orwell, he was there and wrote about what he saw) the French Army in Algeria (1954-1962), Karadzic, Mladic, Milosevic in ex-Yugoslavia (1990), Abu Ghraib (2004), water dousing by the CIA (now), etc. etc. etc. As for lies and denial of obvious facts by Western powers, no need to start a list, it would go on and on and on. Remember those 'weapons of mass destruction' in Iraq ? 'Third world thinking', you call it ? Well, then I guess the world is nothing but third. And guys like you won't improve that situation any time soon. Reason, intelligence and tolerance have been away on holiday for a very long time. That was the 64,000 dollar three million baht question. Why did it take 100 police officers to arrest one man in his apartment as advised by the owner of the apartments block who must have mistakenly thought for a brief moment that the reward money was imminent? 555! No No Noooooo! Maybe next time! But not likely!

lkv
I mean I find many things mind blowing about Thailand at present, but what stands out is: 1. Reward paid to police for doing their job? 2. Your own defense lawyer telling the press you're guilty? It sounds like fiction.
