2nd Transnational Vehicle Crime summit held in Bangkok

BANGKOK, 16 February 2016 (NNT) – The head of the Royal Thai Police has opened the second ever summit on Transnational Vehicle Crime in the hopes of consolidating techniques to combat threats to national security.

Commander of the Royal Thai Police Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda joined Deputy Director of the International Police Secretary-General’s Office Jose de Garcia in opening the second Transnational Vehicle Crime summit taking place today and tomorrow at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel.

The summit was organized by the Office of the Royal Thai Police Interpol to exchange experience and foster cooperation on the international theft of automobiles. Over 150 representatives are attending the event.

Pol Gen Chakthip remarked at the opening that transnational crimes are growing in intensity and often can be connected to acts of terrorism. He stated that this week’s summit is about cooperation against crimes that can impact national security.

The summit is the second gathering after a session held in Lyon, France last year.

...they discovered that thousands of luxury cars had been smuggled into Thailand...over more than 10 years....

....did they ever arrest or charge anyone....

...what a charade...

...if they could smuggle thousands of cars...over all these years...and mum was the word....they could have smuggled anything and anyone....

...so much for 'security'.....

...and so much for pretending that 'foreigners are to blame'.....

...most of us cannot even receive a small box of vitamins without incident....

Not a lot to say on this topic, except, perhaps.............
