Hi, will be making a trip to Hatyai. I need to rent an automatic small car for two days. Pick up and drop off at Hatyai Airport. Appreciate recommendations on reliable car rental company that is cheaper than the international big names. Thanks

I think your only options are the two companies at the airport, Avis and one other. I've not seen any in town as far as I can remember.

Try Swift carehire.com they seem to agents for all the big companies but about 20% cheaper,good cars I have used them many times
