Savanakhet for marriage visa.

I have got a 1 year multiple entry visa from Savanakhet that

is nearly expired.I have milked the full 15 months out of it.

So I haven't been keeping up to date with the visa situation and need

need some current advice.

I have a cash flow problem so I don't want to go back to Savanakhet

for a few months until I have the money,if possible.

So what are my options.15 months ago there were 3 things I could do.

!-go to the border(I live near Mai Sai) and get stamped in for 15 days.

Can I still do this and how many times.

2-Go to emigration and and pay 1900bht for another month.

Can I still do this and if so what do I need to bring.

3- Go to Savanakhet and get a Non O visa on the grounds of marriage.

1. You won't get a visa exempt entry at Mai Sai. They only allow out/in for people with visas.
2. You can apply for a 60 day extension of stay to visit your wife. 1,900 baht from your local immigration office. As long as you haven't had one already for your current stay.
3. You can still get a new multiple entry non 'O' visa based on marriage without any financials.

Extension of stay

• Original marriage certificate plus signed copy.
• Signed copies of wife's ID and Tabien Baan.
• Signed copies of your passport pages: ID page, visa, entry stamp, departure card.
• 1 x photo.
• Your wife.
• Maybe a TM30.
• 1,900 baht.

Visa from Savannakhet

• Original marriage certificate plus signed copy.
• Signed copies of wife's ID and Tabien Baan.
• Signed copies of your passport pages: ID page.
• 2 x photos.
• 5,000 baht.

Best to get a 60 day extension and then you could go to Chiang Khong to get a 15 day entry (30 days if from a G7 country) and then get a 60 day extension of it.

1. You can apply for a 60 day extension to your latest 90 day entry if you have not already done so. There are no 30 day extensions available.

2. Obtaining visa exempt entries is not a viable long stay solution and eventually you will be challenged by immigration

3. A visa can be obtained from Sanannakhet without any need to show finances.

Take your marriage certificate, passport, your wife's ID, and tabien baan along to Chiang Rai immigration along with 1900 baht and you'll get a 60 day extension. Should only take 20 minutes or so depending on which time of day you go.

• TM30: Is the form the owner/house-master of the property you live at should have completed and given to immigration when you moved in. Many offices now ask for this when applying for extensions of stay.
• G7: No, Ireland isn't included.
• 15 day visa exempt entries: They are being cracked down on and you may get denied exit/entry if doing it too often. It's not a good way to stay here. You need a visa or extension of stay.
• 60 day extension: Any permit to stay can be extended, one time, by 60 days, so every 15 day entry could be extended (in theory).
• Passport: Half a page.
• Immigration Office: I believe you would need to use the old immigration office in Chiang Mai which is near the airport.
