The body of a Thai casino manager who disappeared about 10 days ago from Sala Krau district was found buried near the Cambodian-Thai border on Sunday, according to the chief of Pailin provincial police, Brigadier General Chea Chandin. Fifty-one-year-old Sunith Chakchhun Chirak Sakthean lived in Chun Buri province’s Maung district in Thailand, but worked as the general manager at the Pailin Farmico Casino in Pailin province’s Sala Krau district. He disappeared from the casino on February 13th.

“As of now, police have not identified any suspects or know who killed him yet. We are working hard and still investigating the case,” Gen. Chandin said, adding that police were also unsure of the motive behind Mr. Chirak Sakthean’s death. One of the sole leads may be a telephone call the general manager received on the evening of his disappearance. According to his colleagues, Mr. Chirak Sakthean was invited to dinner outside the casino by an unidentified man, deputy chief of Sala Krao district police Major Ry Dara said.

“His body was found dead and buried underground by a villager who was walking to collect tree leaves to sell from a dried pond on a Cambodian-Thai border province,” Mr. Dara told Khmer Times, adding that the man then reported the “rotting” body to police, who will perform a thorough investigation of it before returning it to Mr. Chirak Sakthean’s family.

Dirty business gambling in any country. A thin veneer of respectability covers a pit of deceit ,violence and intimidation.

Let us hope the victim finds peace.

More likely Cambodian style, which is even worse than Thai style.

One can bet (no pun intended) that he or his casino was owed a lot of money and that dept has now been erased.Also his body must have been meant to be found as a warning or else it would have never been found.

It's all speculation. However, if he had been fiddling the casino books that could provoke some extreme reaction.

Sad.

Apparently not reported missing yet his body was rotting when found.

Have police determined this was suicide? No wait, that is for farangs only

Lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas.

Or, in this instance, don't wake up at all.

Well, what are the odds of that happening.....
