Construction Jobs Doubled Last Year: Ministry

The construction sector created almost twice as many jobs last year as it did in 2014, according to a report from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction.

The sector created between 208,290 and 251,490 jobs per day last year, with the number in Phnom Penh ranging from 96,500 to 108,500 per day, the report said.

The report also said that the daily pay for unskilled workers ranged from 24,000 riel ($6) to 35,000 riel ($8.75), while skilled workers earned from 50,000 riel ($12.5) to 60,000 riel ($15) per day, and engineers and architects received $350 to $2,000 per month.
