Court orders merger of two rice fraud cases

BANGKOK, 3 March 2016 (NNT) – The Supreme Court has agreed to the prosecutor’s request to merge two cases in connection with the fake government-to-government (G2G) rice deal of the previous government.

Another hearing has been held by the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions on the case of the bogus G2G rice agreement which was filed by the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) against former Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom and 20 accomplices.

At the beginning of the session, the judges considered and approved the OAG’s proposal to merge the case with another involving seven private companies, which allegedly facilitated the wrongdoing.

As a result of the merger, the number of defendants in the case added up to 28. In addition, the Court deferred inquiry of witnesses on March 16 to April 20 and scheduled four more hearings in January and February of next year.

On this occasion, permission was granted to the defendants’ attorney to coordinate with the Singaporean and Chinese Embassies in assisting foreign witnesses in the two countries to give their testimonies to the Court via videoconferences.

A long time for collusion to happen , the real proof is the paper and money, I just hope the prosecutors office has sound and honest accountants who will ferret through all the miss information, and be able at the end of his or her investigation, give the prosecutors office the Nail they desire. and the perpetrators deserve .

Are you saying it's o k for government ministers and members, civil servants and private businesses to conspire to personally profit from defrauding the state by setting up false, illegal and fraudulent deals?

I still can't figure it out. Was the rice shipped, did anyone pay any money or was it stolen.

Maybe Ms. Yingluck and the PTP will demand that these cases be dropped as well?
