"Sexy dancers" at Bangkok Motor Show face charges for lewd behaviour

Interesting photo ...

4 gorgeous young people in front of one ageing, overweight, red-faced, angry cop who's having a field day giving them a hard time because a bigotted society gives him the power to do so.

If Moliere was alive today, I wonder what version he would write of his extraordinary 'Tartuffe'. One thing for sure ... we're told that our society is somehow more evolved than 17th century society, and technologically it certainly is impressive (so are the negative effects and unlimited collateral damage) but when it comes to human behaviour, we don't seem to have progressed by one millimeter.

Personnally I find the culture of cars, in every single aspect, a lot more obscene than a few public moans. If children, teens or 'the general public' witness 2 people doing a sexy dance, how is that going to damage their brains or their conscience for ever ? Are we not all born because our parents had sex ? Ah, but they did it in the dark, quickly, when no one was looking, right ... Just for the record, not all human societies were/are as bigotted as ours. And the excesses of pornography, the use and abuse of sex in advertising, movies and video games, is directly correlated to this massive and pathetic bigotry. Just like prohibition in the US actually caused a dramatic increase in alcoholism through the 1920s.

Oh, and one more thing : these 4 gorgeous young people were, of course, hired by the big shots running the show, they didn't just take off their clothes and jump on the cars for the fun of it. So where are the big shots ? Not in the police station facing the music ? Now, that is obscene ...

Amazing how the Thai consider this kind of thing as a negative example of Thainess, but you can drag a cop down the street in your sports car, blow up children with RPG's (and receive applause), Kill 3,000 people extrajudicially, allow children to be sold and forced to work as beggars on the streets, etc. etc.

They really need to get their priorities in order.

I'm no prude and have seen much worse in the NaNa bars but such blantant exploitation for pure commercial purposes seems inappropriate in such a venue, the company involved should be punished but then again maybe this is just real Thai stuff !

Public dancing in a lewd manner happens day and night at Thailand's entertainment venues in front of adults and sometimes çhildren. When will they be hauled in? She didnt know what she was doing... She meant to say " I was buckin my horse yippie-o-thai-yay..."

Probably increased sales by 20%.

Only weak minds are influenced by all the sexy displays, which are a ploy to hide the shortcomings of the products.

Superior products would sell themselves.

TIT.

Cheerleaders, do they increase player performance with their cavorting in skimpy outfits or provide entertainment to spectators at a sports show?

Their act was out of place and unnecessary.

Children go to this show and the last thing some men need is any encouragement

I am glad they face charges Serves them right.

Funny how sexy dancing with humps and grinds, crotch grabbing, cock jokes and sometimes very sexual lyrics can bee seen nightly in public in full view of those vulnerable little children all over the country- at musical concerts. Went to a concert last night where the best singer featured has an official vid on YT famous for it's 'visible' pussy. Thailand is rife with double standards and hypocrisy i'm afraid, I must look the video up, as 3 million Thais already have

Thailand's hottest singer/dancer, hopefully the killjoys will never take the sex out of Thailand, she is even better live

How about a nice hefty fine and apology from the company that sponsored this event - why beat on the dancer.

Absolutely - but you were educated in the west and have been trained to use your brain to extrapolate, look for underlying causes etc. You're also not from a feudal society that promotes authority and picks on the weakest link.

I know some expats in the Philippines that think Pattaya is actually representative of Thailand.

lol

I think Pattaya is representative of Thailand too.

It's just a bit more 'in yer face' than most of the other areas.

But I'm only a tourist, what do I know?
