Man sentenced to 3 years in jail for fixing lottery results

NONTHABURI: -- The Criminal Court Monday sentenced a man to three-year imprisonment after found him guilty of helping an influential in Nonthaburi fix lottery results.

The court found Thongsuk Chanakari guilty of collaboration with Narong Oonpaet, alias Klom Bangkluay, in fixing the results of the government lottery on June 1 2001. Narong has been earlier received a jail term.

The court found Thongsuk guilty of being member of a crime organization, of public fraud and of impersonating another person.

The court initially sentenced Thongsuk to six years in jail but commuted the penalty by half on ground that he had confessed.
