cigar7
Since Oct 2015, Pattaya police have been called to 9 Karat Condo numerous times for threats and violence against residents but rarely do Pattaya Police respond to calls for help in a timely manner if they ever respond. In March 2016, complaints were filed at Pattaya Police station and Pattaya Police were shown video of resident harassment and threat of violence by gang members but Police didn't do anything. Finally the Military are getting Pattaya Police moving, as indicated in this article at pattayadailynews.com/officials-inspect-pattaya-condo/ PATTAYA – April 5,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 18.00pm Maj Col Somkiet Sumklang was accompanied with soldiers, Pattaya police and Pattaya tourist police to inspect Karat Condominium located in Central Pattaya after they have been complained that an employee of the condo was threatened and attacked. The question that needs to be asked is why didn't Senior Pattays Police Officers take action until the military got involved? Maybe the Military should do some cleaning at the Pattaya Police station? wump
Can anyone fill me in about this building? It's just so dirty and rundown from the outside and there's birds crapping everywhere and the water from the washing machines just goes over the balcony, making a huge stinky mess on the ground over time. I asked some guy on Airbnb "I hope your place is not in 9Karat or something" and his response was "yes, but we have new management and it's much improved". Is it? There's people throwing mattresses and rubbish over the balcony which doesn't get picked up for months. Also, it seems most Thai don't want to go there in fear of ghosts? Looking at prices, units are 50-70% cheaper than units comparable in terms of size/location ...why doesn't this place get a cleanup/overhaul, improving property value and quality of living? KittenKong
It is indeed a very good thing that the military are getting the police to do their job.
ThaiBob
Looks like an influential Thai has military contacts and used them. The entire article: http://pattayadailynews.com/officials-inspect-pattaya-condo/
craigt3365
It is indeed a very good thing that the military are getting the police to do their job. Seems there was a gambling den there...some proceeds probably made it into the BiB pockets? Thus, no action??? In other areas, senior police officials have been reassigned due to this. It will be interesting to see if there is any fallout...or if due to recent changes, the military are just trying to sort things out.
