Zero Dollar tours damage Thai tourism industry

Today's BP ran a story about Chinese tourists and their preferences for 2016. Thailand slipped from 4th preference to 7th, albeit with still strong interest. Chinese tourists spent 229 Billion USD in 2015, worldwide total. This is one market Thailand should try to protect: and in particular the Milleniums who make up almost 50% of the total ( in contrast to the perception, maybe the reality for Thailand that these tourists are older rather than young independents.)

The same feature had an op-ed piece highlighting the warnings given to Thai tourists about their behaviour in Japan , with the hint that freedom of movement might be withdrawn unless it improves.
