PM's Office Minister to adjust mass media for the benefits of general public

The Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Theeraphat Serirangsan (ธีรภัทร์ เสรีรังสรรค์), will systemise the mass media for public benefits primarily.

Mr. Theeraphat explained the government policy of political reformation to the National Legislative Assembly (NLA), saying the government has laid down a work structure and scope in order to change the viewpoints of politicians and members of the public. The policy will encourage people to offer greater contribution in drafting the Constitution so the political foundation would be strengthened.

In order for the society to have more political knowledge and be developed, the mass media needs to have enough freedom and rights. Thus, a masterplan has been devised to allow the national mass communication to have more freedom and rights. Mr. Theeraphat admitted that the state-run media, especially state-run radio stations, are not truly running for the benefits of the public. Besides, other organizations and people have to be strengthened in order to protect themselves.

The Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office said the government supports the decentralization policy, and during the one-year administration, the officials will work honestly and impartially. He also would like the NLA to consider the laws that are beneficial for reinforcing democracy in the nation.
