BANGKOK: -- The Election Commission will be held accountable if the public forums it staged is used as a venue by some elements to incite public opposition against the draft constitution, warned Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Krea-ngarm on Tuesday.

The deputy prime minister said he welcomed the three regulations concerning the referendum to be issued by the EC because they will help clear up the confusion about what can be done or cannot be done although he has not seen the regulations yet.

He pointed out that some activities in the leadup to the referendum might not be considered as an offence in accordance with the referendum act but they might be deemed a violation of the orders of the National Council of Peace and Order.

Dr Wisanu however declined to comment when asked about the statements made by Mr Suthep Thuagsuban, chairman of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee Foundation and United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship chairman Jatuporn Promphan regarding the draft charter and the referendum.

He merely said that whether the statements made by the two men constitute a violation of the referendum act or not would be determined by the police, public prosecutors or the court.

Suthep said on Sunday that he supports the draft charter while Jatuporn suggests that international observer’s teams from the United Nations, European Union or any international organistions should observe the referendum to ensure fair and transparent referendum.

I finally got it.What they want.

If you cannot say anything nice you can say nothing at all. It hurts us to do Attitude Adjustments.,but we must.

This junta needs to be relegated to the history books, and the sooner the better.

This junta needs to be relegated to the history books, and the sooner the better.

Anyone who cannot see how they're acting like spoiled little children and the direction they're taking the country seriously need to have long good hard look at themselves.

There is NOTHING positive for the country to look forwards to, and to imply they're actually doing the country a great service is nothing short of disgusting.

AS for the EC and their little jollies overseas these need to stop immediately as they're taking the piss.

To avoid liability the EC should not hold any public forums. These forums will be scripted by the NCPO and only serve to promote passage of the draft constitution. The public loses nothing by their absence.

In any case should the EC not hold forums, no doubt the NRSC and CDC will fill the void, albeit with a of mind. wai2.gif
