WaffleIron
In the past hour, several people on Twitter have posted pictures of a fire at the new ferris wheel that got installed at Dinosaur Planet in Sukhumvit (next to the Emporium). According to the pictures and videos, the fire is located in one of the cabins. None of the people who have tweeted so far have mentioned whether there was someone in that cabin (let's hope not). https://twitter.com/Martinphu/status/726318325727252480/video/

WaffleIron
God, this is scary. And it happened on a Saturday afternoon too. Like the guy says in the video, I really hope no one was in that cabin.
theoldgit
It's being reported locally that the attraction wasn't working because of the rain storm, so seemingly nobody in the pod. It's also being reported that it was a short circuit.

The Asiatique ferris wheel has a dual-pricing scheme in place, by the way *sigh*.

Even with aircon it would be too hot to go there, who wants to walk around in daytime? Even the soidogs don't. But i don't trust attractions at all in Thailand and this only proves why.
