Had to laugh at a story in the BP about youth violence stemming from poor upbringing, alcohol and domestic abuse. Whilst all these things are rife in the poor rural areas the kids I saw were some of the most polite and respectful I've ever seen. Ive had 4 kids and really made me question if we do the right thing just handing everything out on a silver platter. T would appear most of the latest perps are from priveledged families. You wouldn't have to look much further than the violence and rape you see on TV here as if it's a normal part of life. You could include the imagery on the news and facebook as well. Kids up in the village used to sit at our place enthralled for hours watching nature docs etc. Shows about other countries etc. I don't think this sort of stuff is even avail on FTA TV here?
