Permanent Secretary of Interior Krisada Boonrach has held a video conference with all of the nation’s provincial governors to be briefed on natural disasters that took place during the long weekend. He was given information on a forest fire on Doi Suthep of Chiang Mai province and the effects of a summer storm in Udon Thani province. He has ordered authorities go to both locations and provide speedy assistance, tasking the two province’s governors oversee the efforts themselves.

While commending the governors for their work, the permanent secretary noted that cooperation between the private and public sectors needs to be improved. He set guidelines for enhancement of cooperation under 4 areas, namely; man power, missions, tools and communication.

The meeting also followed up on the 200,000 baht per village project, which kicked off on May 1. The video conference inspected which villages have had their projects approved to access the budget.
