Expats in Kanchanaburi

Do not see many Expats here in Kanchanaburi. Most of the foreigners I see are tourists. Are there any special places any expats hang out to chat?

I'd guess at the bars along River Kwai Road if anywhere - one of the bars/cafes/bookshops down there used to be run by a farang?

Lots of retirees sitting on bar stools in Kanchanaburi. I've been unable to find a younger or more energetic crowd. I suppose there must be some somewhere as it's quite a big town.

I worked in Kanchanaburi for a few months. I found the nightlife abysmal. Strictly a tourist attraction.

the night life is abysmal.

i have found kanchanaburi to be one of the most boring and unfriendly towns in Thailand the Thai population seems to be a mixture of Chinese and Burmese the ex pat community if you can call it that seems mostly french and Jewish, hardly surprising.

If you go down Maenamkwai road a lot of the bars there are run by Brits or Aussie's.

If golf is your thing the Brit manager in One More bar runs an ad hoc golf society and play the local courses. I visit twice a year for a golf tour, always good.
