Four troopers injured in roadside bomb blast in Pattani

PATTANI: -- Four army troopers were injured when a truck in which they were travelling on a routine patrol in Pattani’s Mayor district was struck by a roadside bomb today (Monday).

The truck skidded out of the Mayor-Palas road and landed with its bottom up on the roadside.

Military and police reinforcements were later rushed to the scene of the roadside explosion which took place at about 12.45 pm to inspect the crime scene.

The injured were later taken to the hospital in the provincial town for medical treatment.

It was suspected that the bomb was planted under the road surface and detonated by suspected militants hiding somewhere near the scene.

Bad luck - two districts away from the Nong Chik District of Peace just declared by the RTM.

Maybe the RTM needs to declare all the Pattani districts as peace districts. Surely then the insurgents will just fade away.

hopefully these men recover.

if you are a volunteer you accept the risk, they are brothers who don the uniform.

best wishes to them.
