Hey guys, the Consulate in Brisbane has just informed me they can no longer issue triple entry tourist visa's...now i have no idea if this is possible but say a few days before my double entry totally expires can i leave thailand..then fly back into say bangkok and get a visa on arrival stamp...just like i did last tie i travelled to thailand? or will they not allow this to happen due to a Tourist Visa just expiring?

I thought it sounded too easy to be possible...so in theory i stay my double entry, leave for a day or 2 and come back in on a VOA and then that would give me a max of 90 more days there right? can anyone see any issues with me attempting to do this? dont wanna get in trouble by the big boys....

In theory you should be able to get a VOA but I to have a Tourist Visa and just to get everything clear I went to the immagration office in Chiang Mai and asked if I can do VOA's 3 times when it expires

They told me that I could run into a problems and to get a new Visa. This did not make anysense to me

as the changes are about VOA but they told me multiple times the best thing to do was extend by Tourist visa by 30days and then go to the consulate in Laos to get a double entry visa

It doesnt make sense but this is what I was told yesterday

You can not obtain a visa on arrival (voa) period. You could exit/return for 30 days with a visa exempt entry or you could go to a Consulate and probably obtain at least one more tourist visa which could allow up to 90 days stay. It remains to be seen how strict they will be in issuing a tourist visa but in theory it would be possible.

Can you by any chance obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa from that Consulate? That might cost a little more but could be well worth it.

My previous answer was in reference to a visa free entry which would only allow a 30 day stay; as that seemed to be what you were talking about.

I am still unsure?? Alot still unclear!!

I am here in Bkk now on a 60day tourist visa.. which I will extend for another 30days. Then I was thinking of getting 3 VOAs or 30dayVisa Exempt Stamps (I know there is still debate on what to call the 30day stamp) after that. I want to be here in Thailand till end of March 2007 and I arrived on Oct 14th.

What the hel_l!! will I be denied at Poi Pet when I start to try to get my first .. then second.. then thrid VOA?? I have a full passport with stamps and Cambodian visas from 2005/2006, will they discriminate?

I have posted on this in the past. I also know at this point that in 'theory' what I want to do will work. But I want to know if anyone so far has epericened the 'scene' at the broder in Poi Pet and what is being said and stamped or 'green marked' so far.

Also, what are the chances or probability that if I go to Vientine and apply for another tourist visa after this one expires they will issue me one 'back to back'.

Thanks everyone I am just trying to feel out the environment before I do things like change my flight details etc...

There might be some confusion as what to call the "30 day stamp", but it's definitely wrong to call it VOA. Visa on arrival is a visa people from certain countries can get when arriving at the airport. It's not the same as the 30 day stamp (visa exempt entry), and the two are aimed at people from different countries.

It might sound a bit anal, but calling a visa exempt entry a VOA confuses the issue as people might not know what you are talking about. And the rules for the two are very different. If you want the correct answers you need to ask the correct questions.

Wow... ok I do see your point. Thanks for that. I would then more specifically ask this/these questions refering to what I assume is the 'visa exempt stamp' 'the 30 day stamp'.

Oh and wanting clarity is never anal.
