casualbiker
The UK is a rip off. When I go there for a few weeks I get a package from Virgin Mobile that allows me to keep in touch. A measly 2GB for a one month pay as you go for £15. Erm...no. It's because you chose the wrong package. You can easily do the same in Thailand in buying one of their Tourist packages. You can buy a Three SIM with 1GB pre-installed for £4. 3GB pre-installed for £9. EE SIM 6GB preinstalled for £15. EE also give out 100GB per month(for two months) SIMs for free. There are lots of offers around, for instance https://lifemobile.co.uk/ but of course you as a hapless to tourist to the UK are a bit clueless, so take the easy option. Just as many do when the reach Thailand and buy Tourist SIMs at the airport. Where do you buy these 3 Sims from? Not listed on 3's website. A bit more polite would be "From whence/where can you purchase/obtain these SIM?"http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1GB-Pre-Loaded-Data-Pay-As-You-Go-Data-SIM-on-Three-Fits-any-iPad-Tablet-/152109019163 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Three-Standard-Micro-Nano-PAYG-Broadband-iPad-iPhone-Sim-3GB-Data-for-90-Days-/331139948476 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-3-PAYG-4G-Trio-Data-SIM-Pack-Preloaded-with-12GB-of-Data-Three-Sizes-/371598351562 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRELOADED-3GB-PAYG-4G-DATA-SIM-CARD-TRIO-MICRO-NANO-MOBILE-BROADBAND-IPAD-THREE-/282041437392 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/EE-4G-Standard-Micro-Nano-Sim-6GB-Data-Card-90-Days-Validity-for-Phones-Tablets/361506652913 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1586468.htm Thanks

Jiu-Jitsu
Why is this thread degraded into a UK centered topic? Are there moderators around? Yes and likely they will be roundly ignoring you. The discussion has ranged from TRUE MiFi to AIS SIMs and speed tests, costs and availability to relative costs in other countries and back to the TRUE MiFi and unlocking. So the topic is fluid. The only degradation if you would like to describe it thus, comes from your post, containing no useful information whatsoever. If you have some useful info to share on TRUE 4G Pocket MiFi, please do so. If you have some specific query, please feel free. Otherwise, what exactly are you doing here? Ballbearing
Guys, I have the pocket wifi (if that is the correct term) shown in the previous photos (True Move H) but I think we only have the 3G package as no 4G coverage where we are (Lahan Sai, Buriram). Is there any other True Move wifi (or other ISP's) that will give me better coverage out in the middle of nowhere ? I am working in China and trying to SKYPE is nigh on impossible, Cheers, BB

Maybe we can change the heading or open a new thread that discuss UK wifi. And you can go bother that thread.

The guy told me it was 4G all over Thailand. It's a nice thought but I think questionable. If your getting no joy with your Pocket WiFi then I would ask in the AIS shop and see if they get better coverage. (AIS package is about 850 for 14Gig) little better than True. Mine at the moment is giving speeds between 20Meg and 50Meg and that's in Sattahip. As for international speeds that is governed by the gateway. Good luck with getting your internet sorted
Ballbearing
Tommy, Thanks for the response. It was 3G when we purchased it. I have checked the coverage map on the True Move website and we are in that area across the border from Siem Riep that shows little or no coverage. Can't tell you speeds as do not have it with me. Was just wondering if there was a better product out there I could try, Cheers, BB

Ballbearing
Thanks casualbiker, No chance of cabled and I am a long way from any farang to ask. I am currently on the most expensive 3G package with True Move H so I can't upgrade there. Would a more expensive router improve anything or is it all to do with the ISP signal strength ? What do you mean about the external antennae - I am willing to try anything ? Cheers, BB
casualbiker
Some Mifi have external antenna plugs.. you can buy and install an antenna which will raise the signal strength.. is your unit a Mifi or a dongle.. if it's a dongle then a simple USB extension may help. Get the dongle up into a window....

TommyUK1960
You guys better try MNP pro. I'm using AIS 50GB just only 645THB. Your package is 10GB of 4G then after that it throttles back. Similar to True packages. At the end of the day its what works best for you in the area your living.

Look here for published details: http://www.ais.co.th/postpaid/4gmaxspeed/en/ Also look out for pedants complaining that we have moved the subject to AIS again istead of TRUE MiFi. Methinks said character is devoid of friends.
