Hello everybody,

I am new to this site and am wondering if some advise could be given in regards to obtaining a pre arrival visa for employment without offer in hand or a one year visa regular tourist. My wife is Thai from Kallasin Province but I do not wish to rely on her Thai natioanl status to enter the country. WE have been several times and I love it there and we are looking to move there permanently next year.

Any relevant advice would be greatly appreciated,

Tawon

No to question of pre approval for job entry without job evidence.

What you need to obtain is a non immigrant O visa based on your marriage. If you expect the job hunt may take more than a few weeks you should probably try for a multi entry type visa that can be used up to one year. Once you find employment you can use this visa as a basis for extensions of stay for either employment or family. If Consulate asks if you want them to not stamp "employment prohibited" below visa say yes. Although it should not matter some people have had later small problems with it.

There is no one year tourist visa.
