Reliable local Taxi Driver driver for an airport pickup & some other work

Featured Replies

I have an elderly friend (75 years) arriving in Pattaya and staying on the Darkside around Khao Talo area for 1 - 2 months starting July 24.

He is generally fit but only has 3% vision out of one eye and zero in the other which makes it quite difficult for him to get around.

I will help him as I can but we are also looking for a reliable, local driver with a taxi and some English who he can call on for transport to places such local swimming pools 2-3 times per week or shopping etc.

Basically involves an initial meet and pickup from Suvarnabhumi airport at 12:15am day of arrival and then the return airport trip in August or September with transport/assistance in between booked as needed. He may have myself or some other company but due to his disability it would also be great if the person could offer him assistance getting to and from the taxi and even while shopping if needed.

Appreciate any TV members in the area who may know of a decent and reliable local taxi driver who may be interested in some regular work over 1 or 2 months.

3 % visibility on one eye sounds terrible to me. It seems that he needs a full time nurse, or similar. How should he get around in this horrible traffic?

Bloody hell!... He must be a very determined man. Good on him.

Yes, terrible and the result of a serious motor vehicle accident in Australia quite some years ago. He can however, use a computer with a special setup on his Notebook PC and spends much on that or out and about looking after his own property/farm back in Australia. He is quite independently minded and apart from his sight 100% in all other aspects. Swims 1 mile 3 times a week so very fit for his age also. I believe he is one who lives by his great attitude to life.

Part of the reason for his trip is actually to see if he/we can find a decent lady in her mid-40 - mid 50's who may like to be a live-in carer. She would look after those things requiring a good eye, providing him assistance while he looks after her financially and doing some travelling also.

I'm sure there will be many 'nurses' offering him assistance & who'll go the extra mile to make him 'comfortable'

Wish him luck in the partnership department, but of all places to start looking...
