Pattaya may send surplus water to Laem Chabang

PATTAYA:--With the rainy season kicking in, Pattaya has so much water, it actually can send about 30,000 cu. meters a day to help out thirsty residents of Laem Chabang, water authorities told city business leaders.

Speaking at the June 9 Pattaya Business & Tourism Association meeting at the Grand Sole Hotel, Phusit Poromet of the Chonburi Irrigation Department, said Pattaya has about 54 million cu. meters of water resources at its disposal.

While the aftermath of Thailand’s critical drought has left some area reservoirs at less than 20 percent of overall capacity, there is still plenty to last through October even if it doesn’t rain another drop before then.

From the looks of the Maprachan reservoir, it looks like they've already sent it. The water level in the lake has dropped dramatically in the last few months.

Where is this surplus water stored? Beach road? Kao Talo? Suk Tunnel?

How will they send it? EMS?

Just think how much hardship could be saved if the excess water during the monsoon season was stored for use in the dry season. Now that is a silly idea if ever there was one.

Wow! From drought to surplus, in such a short time! Lets sell it! Sounds like the typical way of thinking, win the lottery, have a party, and drink it up in one night.

My neighbors will be pleased.....saves them a watertruck every 2 weeks.
