CSD to re-question former broker and caddy in murder conspiracy

BANGKOK: -- The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police will soon summon two girls, a former stock broker and a golf course caddy, for questionings to look into their parts in the murder conspiracy of a construction tycoon in June last year.

The re-questioning followed the arrest of former deputy commerce minister Pol Lt Col Bunyin Tangphakorn, also a former MP of Nakhon Sawan province, at a resort hotel at Khao Yai national park in Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima province early this week.

At the resort hotel, the CSD also found the former stock broker, Ms Uracha Wachirakulton, a suspect in a related case.

But Ms Uracha, who is free on bail, was not charged.

Another girl, the caddy, was said to have intimate affairs with the tycoon, and became pregnant. She also claimed her pregnancy as reason for the share transfer to her.

Both girls had over 300 million baht worth in SET-listed stocks transferred to their accounts by the tycoon, Chuwong Sae Tang, a few weeks before he died in the van driven by the former minister in a crash in June last year.

The former minister then claimed the crash was an accident.

But after the body of the tycoon was hastily cremated in a royal sponsored funeral, the suspicious share transfer surfaced, prompting the family to seek reinvestigation of the van crash and to transfer the case from local police to the CSD. The family also petitioned the prime minister for justice to the dead tycoon.

The Phra Khanong Court yesterday granted the former minister temporary release on a 2-million baht bond bail.

Bunyin claimed after being released he was innocent and suspected the arrest was meant to discredit him.

He also assured he would not flee the country but would defend his innocence in the court.

However CSD police said they have substantial evidence to implicate him in the murder conspiracy.

There were several suspicious points involving the suspect.

The body of the tycoon was hastily cremated citing the tight Royal sponsor schedule as reason.

The CSD police found later that the person who sought royal sponsored funeral was the minister, not the tycoon’s family.

Family told police Bunyin who claimed to be close friend to the tycoon acted alone to seek the royal sponsorship.

Besides forensic autopsy also revealed the tycoon died from broken bones at the back of his neck as there were bruises around, indicating that it was impossible to suffer such bruises from the impact after the van rammed at a tree.

The speed of the van upon impact was also proved to contradict to the minister’s claim of 80 kilometres an hour, the CSD police said.

The CSD said as they pieced together all suspicions, they would summon the two girls for re-questioning, to look into their parts if they were involved in the murder conspiracy.

The CSD police also believed there are more persons in the murder as the tycoon’s sister had indicated her brother couldn’t be easily subdued by only one person.

This is painful. So they quickly assume the guy died in a car crash; although, anyone who's at least semi-competent in their job could've told you that the crash scene didn't look right, and then he's quickly cremated. Okay, I guess these things can happen.

But why now are they going through the same stuff again? Didn't anyone learn anything? It's as if they didn't do their jobs properly the first time. And you get foreigners here who get genuinely annoyed when people slag off the police.

Slagging off the police here is not Thai bashing. That would be like slagging off the mafia and it being Italian bashing.

This story has more juicy content than the average Channel 3 lakorn.

Accident/murder, mia nois, share transfers, pregnancy, distraught family etc etc. Oh how the rich live.

Got to admit that after he shafted the caddy she really took a grip on the situation and shown shes got balls.

However she could be handicapped by the other contenders here and the rub of the green might go her way.

At least the tycoon scored a hole in one!

Do you also suspect she's pretty tee'd'off?

I know what you mean but things are very different here. The accused is a former senior police officer, and former MP and Minister and therefore very well connected. The local plod who investigated would not dare question anything he said and would be very scared to do exactly as he suggested quickly.

It these links based on family, position wealth and connections that some can and do exploit for their own ends. Until society refuses to accept that behavior any longer the police, which reflect society norms will continue to be ineffective in pursuing the hiso rich connect elites.

You can see his plan, even the quick cremation was detailed. His only failure was in not having a way to hide the massive embezzlement. But I guess he hoped to be able to just browbeat his way out of any problems.

It seems the CSD are a bit more persistent.

I heard they made love in the bunker.

He said what's in it for me?

She said.

Sand!

Was that directly after missing a hole in one and he asks

Is it in yet?

and she says

No! it's still in the sand

At the moment, looks like a good result MIGHT be forthcoming, but then connections, lunchboxes, and you know who I'm also play a very major role in all these events.

The average reasonably intelligent person knows exactly who, what, where but of course - TIT.
