I currently am here on a 60 day double (2) entry tourist visa obtained from the Thai Consulate in New York City (I am American, 24y/o). I plan on leaving the country once and reentering on that same visa since it's double entry, and I presume they will honor that . . . right?

Now, when the tourist visa is up (on December 1st), I will have to leave the country and I think I can either:

- Reenter on a 30 visa waiver (of which we are only allowed 3, but which I have not used any since the new laws)

- or can I can apply for a new tourist visa at a foreign consulate and reenter on that? Therefore, as it would seem, I would not have used any of my 30-day visa waivers.

Is this permissable? It seems entirely in line with the new laws, tourist class visas are not the same as the 30-day waivers. The potential problem is if Immigration still counts a tourist visa towards the 3 visa-waiver limit or if the consulate is unwilling to issue tourist visas (either that they do not issue them at all or they would refuse an applicant who has already used a tourist visa).

And...Does anyone know what consulates [still] offer tourist visas? (or do they all issue tourist visas?) I am namely interested in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Rangoon since that's where I'll be going...and will any of them issue double-entry tourist visas?

Thanks. I'm looking forward to people's knowledgable responses as soon as they can.

These points have been covered many times in the past 2 months on this forum, but briefly:

If you have a double entry Tourist Visa, it could be valid for either 3 months, or 6 months. Either way, you should be able to get close to 6 months on a double entry TV if you exit and re-enter before it expires. Each entry gives you 60 days which you can extend by 30 days at an Immigration Office...cost 1,900 baht.

At the end of 6 months, you could do 3 visa runs and then apply for a single entry TV at a Malaysian embassy. From all accounts so far, they will no longer issue 2 and 3-entry TVs.

Based on latest reports I have seen in this forum, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur still issue double-entry tourist visas, with Singapore rating higher. Rangoon (Yangon) does not.
