Toyota workers who resigned told to register with SSO to receive help



BANGKOK: -- Contract employees of Toyota Motors (Thailand) Corp who agreed to resign voluntarily are advised to register with the Social Security Office as unemployed workers so that they will be entitled to financial help.

SSO secretary-general Kowit Satjaviset said the workers should register within 30 days since the day they resigned or were laid off so that they would be entitled to unemployment fees in case they had contributed to the social security fund for at least six months within 15 months before the end of their working services.

He said that the workers can register through the internet by logging into the following website, http//empui.doe.go.th/auth/index using the numbers of their ID cards.

He reminded them not to register after 30 days otherwise they would lose the right to unemployment funding.

Between 800-900 contract employees are expected to accept Toyota’s voluntary resignation programme.

Interesting that Toyota are setting up a plant in Malaysia. Do they perceive Malaysia as a more stable place to do business? And not have the Government "spying" on them.

Yup, military persons are militarists never to be economists or diplomats and are highly unlikely to learn to be so. Sadly for Thai peoples.
