Networking event held in Nakhon Phanom to promote trade with Laos

NAKHON PHANOM, 12 July 2016, (NNT) - The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) has recently organized a business networking event in Nakhon Phanom province to promote trade with Laos.

The event was held at the iHotel in the capital district. According to the provincial DIT office, the business function would give an opportunity for local agriculturists and manufacturers to expand their distribution channels.

Participating in the event were 80 entrepreneurs from the provinces of Khammouane and Savannakhet in Laos. Business owners from both nations showcased their products and engaged in professional networking.

The office has indicated that the competition for trade has intensified since the ASEAN Economic Community officially launched at the end of last year. The DIT believes that penetrating neighboring markets is a strong option that grants significant returns for business operators in Nakhon Phanom and other provinces.

The organizers are confident that the event would lead to new markets in Laos, in line with the department's policy to increase Thailand's market share in the agricultural sector of the neighboring countries.

THAILAND HAS NO agriculture control. ALL thai FARMERES DEAL directly WITH CHINA/thia middle men. who cheat the government. so LAOS should TRADE WITH CHINA, NOT thailand.

What a non-event. Did Nakorn Phanom just realize that they're a border province with Laos? They have had a bridge there for the past 5 years. Of course much of their trade involves Laos, how much more of a "captain obvious" reality could this be?
