My work visa expires on April 10, can I get a 3 month non-imm O (Thai wife) after that? I want to stay till June. Is that possible?
When you say “work visa”, do you mean

1. your work permit

2. or your permission to stay

If it is No. 2 above, is your permission to stay based on

2.1. multiple-entry non-immigrant visa

2.2. or extension of stay for the reason of employment

It's based on employment. But I want to know if I can still get a non-imm O for 3 months. Do I have to go to Laos for it, or can I get one in CM?

You already have non-immigrant status and therefore at the Chiang Mai immigration office you can apply for extension of stay on the basis of marriage, but you would need to show evidence of monthly income of 40K. With your employment terminated, you yourself may longer have this income but for this type of extension it can also be your wife’s income.

Alternatively, go to a Thai consulate and apply for a non-O visa; purpose of visit “visit family”

A tourist visa, which is cheaper, also gives you permission to stay for 60 days and if necessary you can apply for a 30-day extension at the Chiang Mai immigration office.

If you have any other income other this job or your wife does not have income, over 40K per month. You can get a extension of stay based on marriage.

Otherwide you can get 60 days to visit your wife. ( No income required)

It's only going to be for a couple of months - but I would like to know if I am affected by the 90 day rule. I read this forum everyday and I still don't know!

Yes, Dan Sai Kid, that’s one option I overlooked.

Not unless you start doing 30 day tourist visa exemption runs.

As this was not a option given, you would not be affected.

Sunbelt, I’ve seen you mention this before but can’t find it anymore. For my own information and for others who may benefit from it:

1. Is this new since the introduction of National Police Order 606/2006?

2. Is this 60-day extension granted under paragraph 7.18, clause (3)?
