BMA joins Three Rivers of Power in seminar on new draft charter

Kitti Cheevasittiyanon

BANGKOK, 24 July 2016 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has joined three of the Five Rivers of Power in a seminar to help people understand the new draft charter and the public referendum.

The BMA and the Constitution Drafting Commission, the National Legislative Assembly and the National Reform Steering Assembly on Saturday took part in a seminar to explain all unanswered questions among voters.

Participants in the seminar were residents of nine constituencies of Bangkok: Dusit, Din Daeng, Phra Nakhon, Phaya Thai, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Ratchathewi, Wang Thong Lang, Samphanthawong and Huay Kwang.

The event was suggested by the subcommittee in charge of the promotion of the public referendum to allow the Election Commission to organize a session to further educate the people, which was well-received by Bangkok residents.

Nevertheless, the organizers of the seminar stressed that the participants had hoped to learn more about the points they have been unsure about, while the final voting decision will be made by the free will of all voters on August 7.

With the constitution freely available on the internet and government offices to having televised debates, to having these public seminars gives no room for excuse that the citizens were not aware of what they were voting on.

I remember Jatuporn stating that none of this was ever going to happen. Of course with red shirt arguments mimicking evolution his argument will change over time and he will have completely forgotten what he said previously even if reminded.

Should have read it was well received by the selected yellow shirt supporters of Bangkok as anyone north of the capital is not part of the elite.

That's why with all their propaganda they will still fail once an election is finally called but their manipulating ways trying to enshrine the military might will only drag Thailand down further is its strive for democracy.

Where were these televised "debates" then? less than 3 weeks to go, not every household has a copy to peruse.

Not every house has internet

Not every person can get to a Government office to have it explained to them.

Lets see if there's an election next year, my guess there wont be, and it's moot anyway as the men in green are not finished at the trough yet.

Aren't there Five Rivers of Power? What happened to the other two? Dammed by the Mountain of Auspicious Paperwork?

Not in order of importance:

4th-NCPO Chief Prayut

5th-PM Prayut's Cabinet

Makes no difference with Prayut's physical absence - they all know their obligations to the NCPO's roadmap.

Do you have any evidence in regard to 'selected yellow shirt supporters.......'

Or is this yet another of your deliberate divisive posts, along with deliberate untruths?

Our moo baan has had the simple (summarised) brochure plus registration form delivered. But it is still too complex and looked upon as "what is it all about? why should we do it?". The question is always "Can I eat it?". Grass roots folks (the vast majority) just want to know how they will benefit.
