banglassie
Wait wait wait, I'm confused...First of all, what is "Bephendryl"? A Thai name for some common compound? Because a quick search reveals no such brands nor chemicals. Phensedyl on the other hand contains codeine, which is illegal in Thailand.but in the immage you have bottles of A-Nadril, which contains nothing else except chlorpheniramine, ammonium chloride and NA citrate (sodium citrate).Ok, so I know that Thai kids love to mix their kratom with loads of Benadryl syrup etc. And chlorpheniramine is not much different from benadryl, just another antihistamine... Thailand should be way more concerned about their high abuse in antibiotics than some antihistamines.Okok, so kids claim they get an "euphoric high" if they mix their kratom brew with these cough syrups. Well, they also claim it's good to mix with mosqito spirals and the "dust/stuff" inside fluorescent light tubes...They still sell DXM pills over the counter for cough, but now they are jumping on a quite harmless antihistamine that does nothing in the way of making one high (unless drowsy = high...) just because some kids mix it with their jungle tea...The lack of knowledge regarding pharmacuticals here is mindblowing....This is just as silly (read stupid) as when they claimed they had no idea where the laughing gas that was/is sold all over KSR in the night comes from, still anyone can go and buy it in any good hardware or kitchen store...I also remember when they "banned" tramadol (at least for Thai kids), their reason was that "some people had found out that if you mix the pills with soda like coca cola you can get an euphoric high.. Well, IDK, but where I come from people tend to abuse these pills without any need of coca cola or "somekind of soda"...And the same goes for Kratom. People in Europe and US boil their leaves bought from Indonesia or just eat them the way they are grinded into powder, so... If they should focus on anything then maybe it should be the drug and not some pointless additives, then let's make coca cola illegal, since it's the main mixer in "Kratom water" or "4x100" as they say here...Perhaps if the "pharmacists" had some education about what they where doing, as well as doctors prescribing medicines, as well as the board that always comes up with these ridiculous claims, we wouldn't get completely pointless crackdowns...But yeah, I forgot we are in a place where paracetamol actualy cures deseases! Not only takes away the symptoms... pathetic... Edited July 28, 2016 by banglassie
diddygq
555, 'ban' on Tramadol. They did make it harder to get but I still can easily find it and buy in mass quantity if I wanted.
banglassie
555, 'ban' on Tramadol. They did make it harder to get but I still can easily find it and buy in mass quantity if I wanted. 555, indeed, they tried to change them to ultracet for a short while, and I think that's usually the norm in boots or similar chains today, but more or less everywhere else they still have all the thousands of different generic brands just like always, I guess it's just like as with benzos like diazepam and alprazolam, (although way more laid back). As soon as the youth here started to use it they had to do something about it, many times that only means "stop sell to locals and sell only to westerners (preferably tourists that will disappear soon), also increase the price"... Many places would not sell me alprazolam if I asked for them in Thai, only if I ask for them in English. Now I'm no advocate for benzos, but they are very handy for overnight flights, train or bus rides. But yes, they are illegal so nobody should try to buy them here, cause it may cause you trouble... Colabamumbai
They could even be making ya-ba with it, since nasal sprays are banned for that reason.
ClutchClark
Knowingly dealing drugs to kids for a buck. If only Thailand had longer prison sentences.
