might be simple to some but not for me, i have a camcorder that will need to be recharged, what do i need ? an adapter? a converter?, if so wheres the best place to buy, thanks in advance

You will need a charger.

Most are universal, 90-240 volts, so they will work anywhere in the world.

If you tell us what make of camera we can adivse you where to buy the charger.

It is strange that you did not get one when you bought the camera. :o

thanks astral, i have a jvc camcorder, back in the states i would just use a set of wires that came withy the camcorder and plug it into the wall, my main concern is the electricity difference (110 to 220) for all i know the charger is in the wires that i plug into the wall.

i'm just not sure that if i plug the cord or wire into the wall i won't blow the camcorder, thanks for you response

Somewhere on the wires there will be a block?

This should have some sort of label saying what voltage it supports.

Failing that check the manual!

You do not say where you come from, or where you bought the camera.

If it is Europe you will be Ok here in Thailand.

If from the US you must check first.

many older camcorders have the charger built-in, so there won't be any 'box' along the wire.

as astral suggests, read all labels and the manual.

if the voltage is fixed at 110V then you will need a down-transformer (220v -> 110V) but most chargers, even built in ones, are flexible (90-240V).

READ the LABELS and MANUAL!

If you are not sure then go to any shop selling JVC camcorders and ask them for help.

Do not plug your camcorder into the mains in Thailand (220V, 50Hz) until you are certain it is save to do so!
